Empowering Students, Advancing Careers, and Supporting Education in the Michigan RV, Campground, and Manufactured Housing Industries
The HARVEST Education Foundation, established in 1991 by the Michigan Manufactured Housing, Recreation Vehicles, and Campground Association, is dedicated to creating educational opportunities for the next generation. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, HARVEST relies on the generous and 100 percent tax-deductible gifts from individuals and corporations. It also accepts grants from other nonprofit organizations and state and federal agencies. Through scholarships and programs, HARVEST supports students pursuing careers in the RV, campground, and manufactured housing industries. The Foundation also awards scholarships to exceptional students with compelling needs, even when their career paths lead elsewhere.
Over the years, HARVEST has proudly awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to nearly 700 students and has been entrusted with numerous research grants from respected institutions like the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, HARVEST relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and other nonprofit organizations to continue its mission.
Grants are available to Association members in good standing in two categories: individual member continued education and education and training to residents/consumers/customers.
HARVEST provides grants to Association members to participate in industry-related continued education opportunities, such as credentialing and requirements for associated licensure or certification.
HARVEST provides grants to Association members offering educational programming or training to customers, residents, or other stakeholders. Examples might include an Association member offering first-aid training to all residents of a manufactured housing community or an Association member presenting education on RV maintenance.
The Foundation offers financial aid to students who wish to make a career in the RV and campground or manufactured housing industries. Scholarships may be awarded to students even though their career goals may not lead them back to those industries. Awards will also be given to outstanding scholars or students with compelling needs.
Students who will enroll or are currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, or
vocational school are eligible to apply.
Students must submit a copy of the application to the Foundation office. The awards will be made based on the applicant’s ability to show that his/her educational goals are consistent with industry goals. The application’s presentation and thoroughness weigh heavily. The Foundation will base decisions on need and/or merit. Students may qualify for each year accepted to enroll or currently enrolled at any accredited university, college, or vocational institution.
